DAY 13: SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS
Prompt: Pray that God keep His followers from falling into Pharisaical self-righteousness. Give us hearts like the tax collector, and not like the Pharisee.
Scripture: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. "The Pharisee was standing and praying like this about himself: 'God, I thank you that I'm not like other people - greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. "I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.' "But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even raise his eyes to heaven but kept striking his chest and saying, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner! ' (Luke 18:10-13)
Declaration: But this is a people plundered and looted; they are all of them trapped in holes and hidden in prisons; they have become plunder with none to rescue, spoil with none to say, “Restore!” (Isaiah 42:22)
We declare: Restore! May His will be done.
